A MOTORCYCLIST has been badly hurt after he came off the bike he was riding on a main road.

The 30-year-old man had been riding a powerful green Kawasaki Ninja ZX 750cc bike along the A4103 Worcester to Hereford road at about 6am on Sunday, when the accident happened.

The bike left the road near leigh Sinton, near Malvern, and crashed into a hedge.

Its rider suffered serious abdominal injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics, while the road was closed.

He was rushed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The road was reopened just before noon.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or for anyone who saw the bike travelling in the moments leading up to it.
