A BRIEFING on the refurbishment on the Teme Bridge is due to take place later next month.

Worcestershire County Council is holding an event at Tenbury High School on Wednesday, September 21.

The briefing will start at 7.30pm in the main hall and will advise on the nature of the work and the measures planned to address the community’s concerns about the proposed bridge closure.

County councillor Ken Pollock, local member for Tenbury, said: “Among the issues are how the businesses will continue to be served by both suppliers and customers during the bridge closure, the diversion routes themselves and the all important additional winter maintenance to be undertaken in parallel.

“I can assure the community there will always be access for mobility scooters, pedestrians and cyclists throughout the works and depending upon the mode of the construction phases these will either be accommodated on the existing bridge or a temporary footbridge.”

The road will not be closed until the new year in order not to affect Christmas trading.

Anyone wishing to make representations at the briefing should log them with Mr Attwood through the Worcestershire Hub on 0845 6072005.
