WORCESTER Wolves will be looking to make it two wins out of two when they welcome Plymouth Raiders to the University of Worcester tonight (7pm) in the British Basketball League Trophy.

The Wolves required overtime to see off the challenge of Guildford Heat in a 93-87 success and director of basketball Paul James feels that there is a lot more to come from his new-look side.

“We won ugly,” James said. “Maybe it was first game nerves, but we know that we can play better and that is what we hope to do tonight.”

Worcester captain Callum Jones, who goes up against his brother James this evening, feels Wolves line-up at the university is beginning to show signs of gelling.

He said: “They’re really good guys and they’re buying into what we’re trying to do.

“We’re playing well as a team, and it should be a good season.”

Worcester’s England international forward David Watts is expecting a difficult game against the Raiders.

“It’ll be tough, they also beat Guild-ford, so we’ll need to be physical in-side,” said Watts, who is his second season with the Wolves.

“We need to keep Paul Williams and Lehmon Colbert quiet, limit them to one contested shot, and play solid defence.

“We had a really scrappy first-half against Guildford, we didn’t box out well and we were getting killed inside.

“The coach chewed us out at half-time, and we fought our way back into the game. It was nice to get the win.”
