A WOMAN has admitted stealing two camping chairs from a car in Worcester.

Lisa Reynolds, aged 24, of Windermere Drive, Warndon, Worcester, was seen trying to open cars in Park Avenue, Barbourne, in the early hours of October 6.

Sarah Stock, prosecuting at Worcester Magistrates Court, said a woman heard a noise at the front of her house at about 12.30am.

She looked out of the window and saw Reynolds, with a rucksack, taking items out of the boot of her car.

Two camping chairs worth £30 were taken.

The witness called police who arrested Reynolds nearby.

In interview, Reynolds said she wasn’t attempting to steal the cars and was looking for items to sell to buy food.

She admitted taking the camping chairs, but said she put them in the boot of another car and had taken a set of jump leads instead. She said the cars she opened had all been unlocked.

The camping chairs were not recovered.

James Somerville, defending, said his client was having problems with alcoholism but was seeking help.

Reynolds was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £30 compensation. No order was made for court costs.
