WORCESTER siblings Paul and Kate Oliver raised more than £1,400 for charity after successfully completing the Great North Run.
The pair joined 45,000 other runners and ran the half-marathon together to raise money for the MS Society.
They decided to raise money for the charity because their uncle, Paul Hirst, suffered from MS for about 10 years, before his death in September 2002.
Their grandmother, Margaret Hirst, was also a well known Worcester-based supporter of several charities, including MS.
Mr Oliver has run the race twice before, but it was a first for Ms Oliver, who is well known in Worcester as the manageress of the designer men’s shop Pockets, in Friar Street.
Both are former pupils of Nunnery Wood High School with Mr Oliver going on to study at Worcester Sixth Form College while his sister went to Worcester College of Technology.
