A WORCESTERSHIRE firm of financial advisers has raised more than £3,000 towards pioneering new treatment that could save lives.

McCarthy Taylor Limited, which has offices in Worcester and Evesham, held a quiz and auction evening at Evesham Rowing Club and trainee financial adviser Jonathan Hayton completed his second marathon this year to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, which is supporting a gene therapy programme The charity event, with lots auctioned including a Worcester Warriors signed shirt and a day at Cheltenham races with a behindthe- scenes guided tour, raised more than £2,660 while Mr Hayton raised £540 running in the 38th Berlin marathon.

Managing director Paul Taylor has always supported the CF Trust as it tries to raise money for therapy that could prolong the life of sufferers like his 14-year-old son William.

Mr Taylor said: “The effort Jonathan puts in to raise money for the Trust is fantastic and I want to thank everyone who supported our charity evening and raised a magnificent amount, particularly Tracey Foster, one of our advisers who organized the event.”
