ARMY chiefs are investigating whether a war hero from Worcester was bullied by a colleague.
Paratrooper Tom Neathway, aged 28, lost both legs and his left arm in a blast while serving in Afghanistan in 2008 with the 2nd battalion of the Parachute Regiment.
After Corporal Neathway, who is now based at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, made a complaint to bosses about harrassment, a joint service investigation was launched.
As part of that process, Corporal Neathway has been moved from his normal base to Colchester in Essex.
A report in The Sun newspaper claimed that Corporal Neathway complained after a superior officer said, “You’re not much of a paratrooper anymore, are you?”
A spokesman for the ministry of defence said: “We are aware that a soldier based at RAF Brize Norton has made allegations of harassment against an individual in his chain of command. This is being thoroughly investigated in accordance with the joint service complaints procedures.”
Millions watched Corporal Neathway’s brave battle to recover from his injuries after a television programme followed his progress.
The former pupil of Bishop Perowne High School and St Barnabas Primary School spent weeks at Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham before being moved to the defence medical rehabilitation centre at Headley Court, near Epsom.
Corporal Neathway was unavailable for comment.
