WORCESTER Wolves forward David Watts has called on his team-mates to show better ball retention as they clash with Plymouth Raiders for the third time this season.

Wolves and Raiders have clashed twice so far this term, with both teams winning the away matches in the British Basketball League Trophy.

With them going head-to-head again in the semi-final of the BBL Cup, tonight’s meeting at the University of Worcester (7pm) in the league could give the victor the edge going into that cup fixture next month.

“I know they’ve added the league’s most valuable player, Jeremy Bell, and he brings another dimension to an already decent offensive team,” Watts said.

“We have to take care of the big men and stop Bell and James Jones who are their shooters.

“We need to be smart in every possession and not turn the ball over or we’ll find ourselves down by 18.”

Raiders coach Gavin Love says director of basketball Paul James has put together a well balanced team this season and is wary of their shooting power.

He added: “Sherrad Prezzie-Blue, Richie Gordon and Tommy Freeman are all key to their success.

“We are one and one against Worcester, but I think both teams have improved since then.

“They were on a great run of six wins up to last night so it will be a very tough game at Worcester this weekend.”
