A WORCESTER councillor has received an accolade.
Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for customer service and communication at Worcester City Council, was nominated by Network Rail for the individual excellence in corporate social responsibility (CSR) award at the Worcestershire Ambassadors Corporate Social Responsibility Awards 2011.
She was presented with her award by Worcester MP Robin Walker at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways Stadium.
“It came as a real surprise and an honour to be nominated for this award,” said Coun Hodgson. “I feel very humble.”
Coun Hodgson, also a county councillor, is a governor of a number of schools and a member of the corporation for Worcester College of Technology. She is also a trustee and honoury vice president of St Paul’s Hostel and a patron of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.
The event was organised by the Worcestershire Ambassadors management group to recognise and applaud businesses and individuals across the county who take CSR seriously and give something back to the community.
