THE people of Worcestershire and Herefordshire have just over two weeks to have their say on the way the fire service is set to run.
The draft integrated risk management plan (IRMP) will decide how Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is run from 2012/13.
The 12-week consultation period to gauge opinions on the five key recommendations will close on Thursday, December 22.
Recommendations include use of resources for community safety, fire service cover, closer working with Shropshire and Wrekin Fire and escue Authority (SWFRA) and a review of road traffic collision (RTC) equipment across the service.
Councillor Derek Prodger, chairman of the Fire Authority, said: “These are only draft proposals at this stage and it’s vital that we gauge the opinions of residents and incorporate these into the plan.”
Chief Fire Officer of Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service Mark Yates said: “It’s important that we get feedback from the community and we would urge everyone to take a look at these IRMP recommendations and to respond to our consultation questionnaire.”
