A SINGLE mother from Droitwich is appealing for the return of a special double pushchair which was stolen from outside her home on Friday.

Lydia Knight, aged 31, of Drovers Green, Droitwich, says that without the pushchair to transport her daughter Ruby, she is virtually housebound.

The £700 pushchair, a Baby Jogger City Select tandem model, was stolen between 5pm and 6pm.

She said it was essential to her to transport Ruby, who is aged two years and nine months, and her son Indi, who is coming up to his first birthday.

She uses the pushchair to take Ruby to a specialist nursery four times a week, and to speech therapy sessions.

“Ruby has got special needs and has been diagnosed with partial sensory ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and I can’t take her for a walk, because she would just run off,” she said. “She’s got limited understanding and she just doesn’t realise the danger of running out into the road or running off.

“She has to be in the pushchair and because it’s a tandem, I can carry my son as well. Without it, I’m housebound.

“It was very expensive and I’m a single mother, so the theft has really hit me hard. I just hope that whoever stole it realises how important it is to me and have the heart to return it. I can’t replace it, and I’m desperate.”

The pushchair is black with a silver frame and has a pink harnesses on the main seat. The baby seat had been detached when it was stolen.
