PUPILS at a Worcester secondary school showed their softer side by raising cash for an animal charity.
Year 11 pupils at Bishop Perowne CE Performing Arts College held a cake sale and car wash, raising £79.60 for the Worcester and District branch of Cats Protection.
As a thank you, they were treated to a brief talk from branch fosterer Sally Langfield, who brought in one of her kittens, Dallas.
Mrs Langfield said: “The pupils chose to fund-raise for the branch after their teacher Victoria Reeve-Mckew’s cat died and she told them all about the charity and what it does.
“I chatted to them about my own animals and the branch’s work.
"They were surprised at how much it costs to set up pens, vets bills and neutering.
“I told them how well they had done.”
Mrs Langfield, of Hanbury Park, Worcester, has been a fosterer for the branch since April.
