ONE of Britain’s finest business brains made an appearance at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways Stadium to help raise money for a new county breast unit.
Lord Digby Jones, a House of Lords crossbencher, promoted his first book Fixing Britain – The Business of Reshaping Our Nation, when he appeared at a lunch yesterday.
The event was held in support of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign – a fund-raising drive to raise £1.8 million for a new specialist unit on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site.
Campaign director Geoff Howard said: “We are close to £730,000 mark at the moment, which is fantastic progress and we hope to have reached the halfway point by the summer.”
Lord Jones has several roles in business life, among them chairman of the international business advisory board at both HSBC and at British Airways.
