THE fourth Herefordshire Marmalade Festival should prove to be a jam-packed affair when it returns next month.
A fine spread of attractions will be on offer in Bromyard from Thursday to Sunday, February 23-26.
Keen cooks can enter the competitive spirit to see if their preserves can succeed in one of a number of categories, from Seville orange to novelty and organic to citrus. All entries must be made by 5pm on Saturday, February 18, to either the St Michael’s Hospice shop in Broad Street or Flowerdew’s in the Square.
A new addition will see local personalities pit their wits against each other and the clock in Just a Marmalade Minute at the Conquest Theatre on the Friday evening from 7.30pm.
Organiser Mary Seldon said the town was rallying behind the festival and she hopes to raise about £2,000 for St Richard’s Hospice.
She said: “It seems to be really taking off this year. We have had a lot of inquiries from people who don’t live in Herefordshire.”
