THE Worcestershire Voices Project is moving forward and is now looking to recruit someone with a passion for the voluntary and community sector to take the project on to the next stage.

The scheme aims to improve engagement, develop strategic leadership and build a strong and influential voice for the whole voluntary and community sector in Worcestershire.

The new chairman will lead the newly formed Worcestershire VCS strategic board, which will play a pivotal role in shaping the future strategic direction of the VCS in the county.

In addition the group will also recruit 12 people with the right skills and motivation from a broad range of VCS organisations who can support the chairman in developing a strategic board that is proactive, responsive to the needs of the sector and can make a real difference.

Michael Hunter, chairman of the Voices project group, said: “The establishment of a VCS strategic board for the county represents an exciting and timely opportunity for the sector.

“We hope it will attract interest from high calibre candidates from across the county who feel it is time for VCS organisations, regardless of their size or focus, to join together and see themselves as belonging to something much bigger and more powerful than the sum of its parts.”
