A WOMAN has been airlifted to a specialist hospital after being rescued from a house blaze in Worcester.

The woman and two men were first taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital following the fire at the house in Christchurch Road, off Tolladine Road, this morning.

The two men were expected to be released from hospital today after suffering non-life threatening injuries but the woman had to be airlifted to a specialist hospital in London.

Firemen were called to the scene at around 3.30am this morning.

The fire, which took around a hour and a half to put out, was in a bedroom on the first floor.

Three fire crews from Worcester and two ambulances and an incident support officer attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Three people were treated at the scene and transferred to hospital following a fire at a property in Worcester.

“Ambulance crews conveyed two men with smoke inhalation. A female, believed to be in her thirties, was treated for serious smoke inhalation.”
