FIREFIGHTERS were called out to deal with two serious crashes in the Vale of Evesham in just 12 hours.

A woman had to be cut free from her car after a crash in the town this morning.

Emergency services were called to Broadway Road just after 8.30am to the collision involving two cars.

One person had already escaped one vehicle, but a woman remained trapped inside.

Firefighters from Evesham stabilised the vehicle and used heavy cutting gear to remove the roof from the car and release the woman.

She was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

Fire crews from Evesham also went to a crash in Station Road in South Littleton, near Evesham, at around 8.15pm last night, involving a building and a car that had overturned.

Five casualties were taken to hospital following the incident, while firefighters made the vehicle safe and removed debris to ensure both the building and the roadway were left in a safe condition.
