ACTRESS Stefanie Powers is bringing some Hollywood glamour to the Malvern stage.

Powers will be joined on stage by fellow thespians Richard Johnson and Elizabeth Carling for On Golden Pond at Malvern Theatres from Monday, February 6.

On Golden Pond is the “timeless” and “endearing” love story of Ethel and Norman Thayer, who are returning to their summer home on Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year.

They are joined by their daughter and her fiancée, who leave their teenage son with Norman and Ethel while they travel to Europe.

A deeply moving and touching exploration of the relationship between the elderly couple, their daughter and their grandson follows.

As the summer wanes, there is a realisation that time is against them but the years have been good, and perhaps there is another summer on Golden Pond still to enjoy.

The classic film of On Golden Pond, which starred Katharine Hepburn, Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda, went on to win three Academy Awards including Best Actor and Best Actress for Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn.

Powers is best known for her role in the 80s hit Hart to Hart, while Johnson, who has starred in Hollywood films, is best known as an RSC and National Theatre leading man.

Elizabeth Carling is best known from her regular roles in Boon, Goodnight Sweetheart and Casualty.

On Golden Pond is at Malvern Theatres from Monday to Saturday, February 6-11 at 8pm, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets cost from £15.50.
