A FORMER vicar will be rocking and rolling as the King himself in a village near Worcester later this month.

Andy Kelso, who is currently chaplain to Worcester Warriors Rugby Club, takes his Elvis tribute act on the road to Kempsey Parish Hall on Saturday, February 18.

Having trained as an actor before going into the church he is well versed in delivering Presley’s rock, ballad and gospel songs. A near fatal motorbike accident changed the course of his life and parts of his amazing story are weaved into his act.

He said: “I want everyone to have a great evening enjoying the best of Elvis and hopefully dancing. The blend of rock, ballad, and gospel makes for an interesting mix but this reflects Elvis as a whole.

“He loved his gospel songs more than anything and greatly prized his Grammy Awards for them. I’m able to share a little of Elvis’ journey in between songs and also share how some of his journey and mine were the same. It will definitely be a night to remember.”

Tickets are £2.50, including a ploughman’s meal, nibbles and soft drinks. Ticketholders can bring their own alcoholic drinks.
