A DOUBLE Ivor Novello winner is set to bring his solo show to the Marr’s Bar on Sunday.

Chris Difford, who first rose to prominence with the New Wave band Squeeze in the 70s, will bring a wealth of experience to the Pierpont Street venue.

He has four solo albums to his name, including last year’s Cashmere If You Can, and comes with a great song-writing pedigree which spans the decades.

As one half of the Squeeze’s songwriting team with Glenn Tilbrook, he is responsible for penning the likes of Up The Junction, Cool For Cats and Labeled With Love.

He has also written lyrics for music by Jools Holland, Elton John, Wet Wet Wet, Marti Pellow and Lisa Stansfield. One of his most recent co-writes appears on the best-selling Ollie Murs album.

Doors will open at 8pm and support comes from Jess Allen.
