SHOPPERS flocked to have a look as Acorns Children’s Hospice opened its new Ledbury store in New Street.

Town Crier Bill ‘the Bell’ Turberfield rang out to officially welcome people to the store on Saturday before mayor Allen Conway cut a ribbon to declare it officially open.

Staff had a busy afternoon as shoppers snapped up lots of bargains, and manager Wendy Webb is now urgently appealing for donations of stock to continue their support for the hospice.

Area manager Val Hammonds said the opening was a big success.

“We gave local shoppers a big welcome with super bargains, and were delighted with the support.”

Could someone please explain why the residents of Worcester and the immediate area, which is what I think your organ is aimed at, would be interested in a charity shop opening in a small town in Herefordshire.
