EYE-catching outfits and dazzling dances will be on show tomorrow evening as a Worcester nightspot holds a fund-raising fashion show in support of a local children’s hospice.
I Am Unique is being organised by a group of University of Worcester students with the backing of local businesses.
From 7.30pm, 12 contestants – six men and six women – will be taking to the catwalk at Tramps in Angel Place and strutting their stuff as they compete for the titles of Miss Unique, Mr Unique and the 2012 People’s Choice Award.
Liam Wright, one of the organisers, said: “There will be three rounds. The first is Fashion Passion, where each contestant will perform with one of their chosen outfits from our clothes sponsor Hush. Then there’s Trashy Designs, where the contestants are given the opportunity to show their creativeness and environmental friendliness through their recycled outfits.
“Finally, there’ll be I Am Unique Salsa Dancing, where each pair of contestants will be able to show their teamwork and confidence.”
Last year’s inaugural I Am Unique event raised about £800 for UK Breast Cancer Research and Mr Wright is hoping they can raise even more for this year’s beneficiary, Acorns Children’s Hospice.
As well as the fashion show there will be live music, comedy and a raffle and all takings and donations made on the night will go directly to the hospice.
The event is over-18s only and admission is £3 on the door (VIP entry £5). For more information, visit missuw.co.uk.
