NUNNERY Wood High School is working closely with police after a “nasty” fight between two pupils.
The incident, which was witnessed by members of the public, took place on the road between the school and County Hall after school on Tuesday.
Headteacher Alun Williams said that the school regards the incident extremely seriously, and is co-operating with police over it.
“The incident involving two boys started out as a fight and ended up as a nasty assault by one of the on the other.
“No one was badly injured, because other pupils intervened to separate the two,” he said.
“This incident took place off the school premises and after school hours, but our policy is that any incident involving our pupils who are wearing our uniform and which takes place on the way to or from school, is as much our concern as if it happened in the playground during lunchtime.
“We are taking this with the utmost seriousness, and we will investigate fully and take the appropriate action,” said Mr Williams.
Toby Shergold of West Mercia Police confirmed that police were working with the school on the incident and said officers will shortly be talking to the family of the alleged victim
