A SHOWCASE of apprenticeship opportunities has been hailed as a huge success after more than 500 people visited it in Worcester.

More than 40 employers and training providers took part in the Real Apprenticeship Showcase, which took place at County Hall.

They included Sanctuary Housing, South Worcestershire College, Construction Skills and Stanbrook Abbey Hotel and Spa, while there were more than 600 ‘Have a Go’ sessions that allowed young people to try their hand at activities as diverse as hair styling and making Moroccan tea.

The Worcestershire Training Providers Association was also on hand at the event, which marked the end of National Apprenticeship Week.

Spokesman Helena Baxter said: “It was busy right throughout the day and our numbers were up on last year. All in all it was a great success.”
