BOXES of model trucks, a leaf blower and hanging baskets have been stolen in a spate of shed burglaries.

Three properties in the Wilden Top area of Stourport-on-Severn are believed to have been targeted in the early hours of Monday.

One woman looked out from her hosue at about 2am after being alerted by her barking dog to see a young man in her garden.

He is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall and wearing a light-coloured jacket and dark-coloured bottoms.

In the morning the victim realised her shed had been broken into and items stolen including a heater, an electric leaf blower, a dog cage, and hanging baskets and stands.

Dog and cat food, groceries, and a Marks & Spencer black and check duffel coat had also been stolen from the house.

At another house, three sheds were broken into and several boxes of collectable models of trucks were stolen, along with a mini Calor gas fire and gas bottles.

At a third house bottles of wine and a lawnmower were stolen from a shed.

Detective Constable Adam Nawarycz said: “The model trucks were particularly distinctive and easily identifiable, and we are appealing for anyone who sees them offered for sale to contact us.”

He said whoever had broken into the sheds had used the fields backing onto the homes, and urged residents to secure their gardens and sheds.
