A TODDLER suffered coffee burns at a supermarket and had to be flown to hospital.

The air ambulance was called out to Morrisons supermarket in Four Pools Road, Evesham, just before 10.30am on Saturday after an 18-month-old boy suffered 20 per cent burns to the front and back of his body.

The boy’s burns were dressed and he was given pain relief, then flown to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Later that morning, shortly after 11.50am, the helicopter returned to Four Pools Road, this time to Evesham High School, after reports of a 16-year-old girl who had been injured playing football.

A rapid response vehicle and a ambulance crew also attended. On assessment, her injury was found not to be serious.

She was given pain relief and was flown to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
