FOR the February walk, the Ramblers were once again lucky to have a dry, sunny day, although there was a little mud underfoot as could be expected at this time of year.
David Wilkes led 15 Ramblers and one dog around Suckley, a lovely walk with undulating countryside, good views and only two stiles.
There was a surprise at the annual dinner for chairman Harry King, who was retiring after 19 years.
He was presented with the Boot, a miniature gold one complete with walking sock and a mini bottle of whisky, also some garden vouchers and a card signed by all present members.
Kate was presented with a potted orchid.
Harry is not usually at a loss for words but was on this occasion.
Many thanks to Richard, Pauline and family for all the thought and effort that went into the presentation.
Also to Richard for organising the dinner and arrangements.
Once again, the Fox at Bransford was the perfect venue, the meal was excellent and the attention from the staff could not have been better.
Many thanks to everyone for a wonderful evening.
Oh yes, not forgetting the quiz, which for the second year running was won by Chris Smith, who carefully clutched her prize bottle to be enjoyed at home.
KATE KING
