AN environmental campaigner who backed proposals for a windfarm near Evesham has been rewarded with his own turbine.
The 50cm model turbine was awarded to campaigner Lynn Davies in recognition of his support of pro-wind energy across the country.
Mr Davies was awarded the Green Champion Award by Yes 2 Wind who heard about his efforts to make the Lenchwick windfarm a reality, although ultimately the plans were thrown out.
Mr Davies, of Norton, near Evesham, pictured left, said: “My own campaigning for green energy, and especially wind energy began in response to the Vale Villagers Against Scottish Power (VVASP) campaign against the proposed Lenchwick Windfarm outside Evesham.
“I started working very hard to find out about wind farms.
“I got the available facts together to counteract some of the nonsense that was being put about.”
