POLICE are trying to trace two cars seen in Castlemorton on Monday evening following a burglary at a home in the village that day.

Thieves broke into the house just off Castlemorton Common via a downstairs window between 8.15am and 6.30pm.

They stole a pair of candlesticks, a small gold watch and a collection of costume jewellery.

Detective Constable Peter Ryland from Worcester CID said: “This house is close to a public footpath which runs through Castlemorton and I would appeal to anyone who might have been using that path on Monday and saw any suspicious people or vehicles to contact us.

“Several people have reported seeing two cars at about 5pm that day near the bus shelter where the Gloucester Road meets the road which leads to Chandlers Cross.

“The cars were parked facing away from Malvern and the occupants said they had been involved in a collision. I am keen to hear from anyone else who saw these vehicles and can offer any further description.

“I would also like the occupants of these vehicles to get in touch as they may have seen something which can help us with our inquiries.”

Anyone with information about this incident can call DC Ryland on 0300 333 3000, quoting 217N 120312 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
