A MAN was slashed across the arm and left badly hurt after an attack in the street.

Police were called to Mill Street at the junction with Mill Bank in Evesham after a man was attacked at about 9.20pm on Sunday.

The victim was left with a deep cut, from a sharp instrument, and police are working on the possibility he had been involved in a row with another man in the street.

Detectives believe the two may have known each other.

Detective Constable Debbie Whitehead, of Wychavon CID, said: "This was an isolated incident and the victim was badly wounded. The injury is likely to leave him with a permanent scar.

"I would urge anyone who was in the Mill Street area at the time of the incident and saw what happened to get in touch."

A man in his 30s was arrested the same day but was later released on police bail while inquiries continue.

Anyone with information about this incident can call DC Whitehead on 0300 333 3000, quoting 599/S/250312 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
