A CHAMBER choir is offering an evening of tranquillity and mystery in only their second ever concert tomorrow.
The 20-voice, mixed group of St George’s Singers will hope to hit the high notes from 7.30pm in St George’s Church, Barbourne, Worcester.
Allegri’s Miserere and Lotti’s Crucifixus form part of a programme of timeless choral and organ music led by conductor and organist Ian Ball.
Pieces from Bach, Stainer and Tallis will also be performed alongside modern classics by Briggs and Leighton.
Local actress Gabrielle Bullock will read poetry from John Betjeman, RS Thomas, Christina Rossetti and others.
Pre-booked tickets priced £8 (£5 concessions) are available via e-mail at stgeorgessingers@hotmail.co.uk and tickets are also available on the door priced £10 (£7 concessions) and £1 for under-16s.
