THE line-up of a new family-friendly festival has been completed following a keenly contested battle of the bands.

City act East of the Sun will join the ranks of WuStock on Saturday, April 21 at Christopher Whitehead Language College after impressing judges last month.

The bluesy rock four-piece of Russell Underwood (vocals and lead guitar), Matt Wallis (lead guitar and backing vocals), Alec Bond (bass) and Jamie May (drums) will perform alongside the likes of This Wicked Tongue, Tallulah Fix, The Misers and chart-topping headliners Toploader.

They have also bagged £200, a day recording at The Panic Room in Evesham, a photo shoot with Katie Foulkes from KDF Photography.

Jamie said the band was overwhelmed by the win.

“To be performing at Wustock supporting Toploader and alongside other great local acts is an absolute privilege and is one of our greatest achievements to date.

“To perform our music in front of a huge crowd is what we love most.”

Organiser Sam Bacon said: “East Of The Sun were very worthy victors of the competition and they complete the line-up. Already having such a strong, talented line-up they are just the cherry on the cake for us.”

Ahead of the festival, they provide support for covers band Come Up and See Me at the Marr’s Bar tomorrow (Saturday, April 7) and release double AA side CD single Sunny LA/Last Train Home on Monday (April 9).
