A WOMAN was in a serious but stable condition in hospital today after being crushed between two vehicles in Bewdley.
The incident happened shortly before 10.45am on Sunday at Northwood Lane. A community first responder was first on the scene after the initial 999 call, and found the woman lying on the floor near the two vehicles.
Ambulance crews, paramedics from the Hazardous Area Response Team and a doctor from Mercia Accident Rescue Service arrived shortly afterwards.
The woman, thought to be in her 50s, was crushed when one of the vehicles had rolled off a car ramp and hit the other parked nearby. Both were unoccupied when the incident happened.
The woman was given pain relief before the team of ambulance staff and the doctor worked together to stabilise her injuries.
She was immobilised with a neck collar, spinal board, leg and pelvic splints before being airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, the region's specialist trauma centre.
Medics were pre-alerted to the arrival of the woman who was said to be in a serious but stable condition.
