A WOMAN was raped twice during a “petrifying” incident in a house in Stourport-on-Severn, a jury was told.

The victim also had two teeth pushed inwards after being punched in the face so hard she was also knocked unconscious, it was alleged.

She was warned by Jose Tavarez – a man described as “arrogant and bullying” – that she was going to die that night, said Glyn Samuel, prosecuting at Worcester Crown Court.

During the alleged ordeal, Tavarez also flushed hair he pulled from her head down a toilet, threatened her with a kitchen knife and jabbed a pen towards her eye, the court heard.

Tavarez, aged 35, formerly of Stourport but now living in Bromsgrove, denies two counts of rape and one of assault causing actual bodily harm.

He said the woman assaulted him first and he pushed her away in self- defence.

He claimed they had sex twice by consent.

The trial continues.
