PATCHWORK blankets knitted by staff at the University of Worcester have been handed over to a charity for people with disabilities.
Staff and their friends and family spent four months knitting 160 colourful squares, which were crocheted together to form three blankets for Worcester Snoezelen.
The blankets will be used in a sensory alcove at the Snoezelen Centre in the grounds of the university.
Su Fagg, of the university’s information and learning services (ILS) department, said: “About 18 months ago we started a knit and natter group.
"Last year we decided to do something for the charity of the year and approached Worcester Snoezelen.
“They suggested we make a blanket for a sensory alcove and we got to work.”
About 15 knitters were involved in creating the three blankets.
Jane Roberts, project manager of Worcester Snoezelen, said: “These blankets will be a wonderful addition to our sensory alcove; they are so colourful and textured.
“We are really grateful to the knitting group for taking the time to create them for us.”
