WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin has called for restraint as drought conditions threaten the country.
The MP urged people to use common sense and not waste water as the continued dry weather threatens water reserves.
Despite a damp Easter weekend, the Environment Agency has written to Mrs Baldwin to update her on potential supply problems.
Although hosepipe bans are considered unlikely, the Agency is working with local businesses, especially farmers, to plan ahead.
Mrs Baldwin said: “I have received an update from the Environment Agency and I am assured that at the present time, we aren’t expecting the hosepipe bans that have come into force in other areas of the country.
“However, we have had much less rain than usual and I would urge people to use common sense when using water this summer.”
