A woman found dead at her home had not been seen for more than three weeks before her body was found.

The body of Jacqueline Harrison, known as Jackie, was found at her flat in Gresham Road, Dines Green, Worcester on Thursday, April 12.

A post-mortem examination revealed the 48-year-old had suffered a significant assault.

William Cummins, aged 51, was arrested in Dorset yesterday and is currently being questioned by detectives in Worcester.

Officers investigating her death have revealed the last known sighting of her was on Saturday, March 17.

Detective Inspector Gerry Smith, from the Major Investigation Unit at West Mercia Police, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who saw or spoke to Jackie in recent weeks, in particular in the last week of March or first week of April.

"It is vital we trace her last known movements and know who she was associating with in recent weeks.

“Jackie had a problem with alcohol dependency and as such had quite a chaotic lifestyle.

“She mixed with a lot of other people in Worcester who also drank heavily as well as the homeless.

"We will be speaking to as many of Jackie's friends and acquaintances as we can but we need to hear as soon as possible from anyone who has seen her recently.

“Where did you see her, what was she doing and who was she with?"

Anyone who did see her should call 101 and ask for the Operation Mallard incident room at Worcester Police Station.

Ms Harrison’s body was discovered after friends and neighbours contacted police to say they had not seen her for some time.
