A COMMUNITY-minded shop assistant in Worcester has had her hair shaved off to raise money for Cancer Research.
Laura Brant, aged 33, of Swaledale Court, had her locks chopped during a fund-raising day at Home Sense in the Elgar Retail Park, Worcester.
She has raised £1,200 through sponsorship while the store has collected more than 300 bags of clothes and unwanted items which will be donated to the Cancer Research store in Droitwich.
Miss Brant, a sales assistant at the store, said: “It’s for the kids. It’s not a big deal, it will grow back. It just really touched me reading about families who are going through it.
“I’ve got a healthy daughter – I don’t think I would be able to cope how they do.
"My mum had skin cancer last year and my dad passed away in the 80s from cancer.”
