A LASTING reminder of today’s world has been hidden away inside Upton-upon-Severn’s new flood wall.
With work on the Environment Agency’s flood scheme nearing completion, children from Upton Primary School were invited to join West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin to lock a time capsule away.
As well as a copy of this year’s Budget statement and drawings and letters from the children, the capsule also contains some clay pipes and old photos from the King’s Head pub – one of the businesses hit by flooding.
Anthony Perry, flood risk manager at the Environment Agency, said: “People can now be sure that the local community will be protected from flooding.”
