MAYOR of Malvern Ian Hopwood was one of the special guests when Acorns held a spring fair at its Worcester hospice.
Crowds braved the cold on Saturday to join in the fun, with face painting and hook-a-duck among the many attractions. Volunteers and staff manned stalls, as children rode on a Victorian merry-go-round and tried their hand at skittles and face painting.
Head nurse Sue Curry said: “It was great to see so many people turning up to support our spring fair, despite the chilly weather, to help us care for life-limited children and their families.
“Everyone worked so hard, preparing games and making cakes, and it was a super event. It was such a cold afternoon, but the warmth from staff and volunteers manning the stalls really made the day.”
Acorns is Coun Hopwood’s charity for his year in office, and he is hosting a Diamond Jubilee charity ball at the Bank House, Bransford, on Friday, June 1, in support of Acorns.
