A BIBLE Society exhibition of painting, calligraphy and embroidery, celebrating the beauty and bounty of creation, is coming to Malvern during May and June.

Creation: A Celebration is formed of 42 panels of artwork illustrating the Biblical account of Creation in Genesis chapters one and two.

Artist Sue Symons took two years to complete the project.

Highly decorated and illuminated texts from the King James Bible are interspersed with others depicting the great variety of plants, animals and insects with whom we share creation.

Following its initial showing in Bath Abbey, this exhibition can be viewed at Lansdowne Crescent Methodist Church, Malvern, from next Saturday to June 13.

Exact opening times can be found on the church’s website at lansdownemethodist.org.uk and on the flyers and posters available in local churches and tourist information centres.

Groups of up to 25 people can also book private viewings by contacting Alison on 01684 561224.

Two extra events, both with free admission, have been organised to tie in with the exhibition.

There will be a performance of Haydn’s Creation on Saturday, May 26, with local soloists Sue Black, Iain Sloan and Tim Cranmore. The concert will be held in the church at 7.30pm. There will also be a lecture by Professor Barry Jones entitled Malvern Hills Vista: Creation, Wealth and Poverty, during Malvern Civic Week on Thursday, June 7, at 7.30pm. This will also be held at the church.
