CROWDS gathered in the sunshine at Top Barn Farm in Holt Heath yesterday to help make a family-friendly fund-raiser a huge success.
The family fun day and team challenge was organised by 15-year-old Christopher Whitehead student Adam Kilgallon and his mum Tina to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice and a month-long school expedition to Borneo which Adam will be embarking on this summer.
A team challenge took part in the morning which saw seven teams compete for points for use in a raft building finale, which was won by the team from St George’s Primary School, followed by a family fun afternoon.
Mrs Kilgallon said she was hopeful that the day had raised £1,200.
She said: “The weather has been a real relief, it’s nice to have people come out and support us.
“I want to say a big thank you to the staff at Top Barn Farm.”
