A MEMBER of the Dyson-Perrins family has helped raise the profile of a Malvern care home.
Marylena Cottrell, granddaughter of Frieda and Charles Dyson-Perrins, was a special guest at the Davenham residential care home reception last month.
She and other guests, including Malvern Town Council chairman Michael Selby, met some of the residents of the home, which is owned by Friends of the Elderly. The national charity invited guests to the home in Graham Road, Malvern, in a bid to raise awareness of its work in helping the elderly retain independence, dignity and choice.
In 1958, Frieda Dyson-Perrins bequeathed Davenham house to the charity in memory of her late husband Charles - the son of James Dyson Perrins, the owner of the Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce factory.
