THREE years after releasing his debut album a Malvern musician has made a surprise return with a new longplayer.

Sam Isaac, who is now based in Manchester, stepped out of the limelight following his last ever UK show at the Firefly, Lowesmoor, in November 2009, but the release of When the Lights Went Out marks an unexpected comeback.

The 26-year-old is staying true to his DIY roots by self releasing 10-track album as a pay-what-you-like download.

Combining his own brand of indie pop and acoustic guitar it was recorded at his home over the last year and in the Cotswolds with the help of Jonathan ‘Burt’ Hill and William E. Howick, who both hail from Malvern.

It also features additional vocals and bass from Sophie Galphin on various tracks and guitar from Matt Randall on Sam released his debut Bears in June 2009 and his music featured on the hit comedy series The Inbetweeners, as well as earning him a slot at Glastonbury and airplay on BBC Radio One.
