AN award-winning jazz musician who is synonymous with his famous bowler hat and waistcoat brings a wealth of experience.

Acker Bilk brings his Paramount Jazz Band to the Huntingdon Hall on Saturday, May 26 at 8pm.

He started playing the clarinet in 1948 while in the Royal Engineers and has gone on to record in a variety of styles and genres.

In 2001 Acker was given the honour of a MBE for his services to the music industry and in 2005 he was awarded the BBC Jazz Award for his unique contribution to jazz in the UK.
