A Worcestershire teenager will play his trumpet in front of the Queen as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Talented trumpeter Henry Thomas, aged 13, of Elmley Lovett, near Droitwich, is a member of the National Children’s Orchestra, which is to perform at a lunch at Westminster Hall on Tuesday, June 5.

Also there will be the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

Henry, pictured, who attends Shrewsbury School, has been playing trumpet since he was seven and is one of only six trumpeters in the orchestra.

He said: “I am very excited and looking forward to being part of such a great occasion.”
