A WOMAN is in a serious condition after being in collision with a car in Redditch this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the A435 Alcester Road near Branson’s Cross shortly after 3.30pm (Monday).

An ambulance, a medic, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and from Cosford, with a MERIT emergency doctor on board, attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When crews arrived they found a woman receiving excellent CPR by police and an off duty nurse. The woman was in cardiac arrest and had multiple serious injuries.

“Crews and the medics worked as a team to resuscitate her at the roadside. Due to her serious injuries the doctors decided to anaesthetise the woman to try to stabilise her condition.

“The woman was then airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, the region’s specialist trauma centre, for further emergency treatment.

“The driver of the car was visibly shaken but uninjured.”
