Worcester News’ roving reporters will be on hand in the heart of Worcester all this week.

Yesterday kicked off the opening of the newspaper’s temporary office in the CrownGate centre to help mark Local Newspaper Week.

Reporters Richard Vernalls and Neil Watts were talking to the public about their stories, including a lady who has been doing her bit for the Worcester twinning effort with Worcester in Massachusetts, USA for the past 70 years.

People can also pick up a copy of the Worcester News – with a free mug and pen – and a series of books including Worcestershire Walks, and a publication featuring some of the county’s best gardens.

The shop is opposite New Look in Friary Walk, open 11am until 2pm, until Friday.

Coincidence?

CITY centre shoppers had to be evacuated from CrownGate shopping centre after contractors triggered a fire alarm.

Dozens of people were forced to wait outside in Angel Place during the incident at about 2.20pm but business returned to normal within 10 minutes
