Little Lucy Powell plays in Worcester’s South Quay fountain on a gloriously sunny weekend – and the good news is that the warm weather looks set to continue for the bank holiday weekend’s jubilee celebrations.
Worcester News weatherman Paul Damari said he was “cautiously optimistic” that the sunny spell would continue, although it will not be as hot as in recent days. The hottest day of the year so far was recorded in Worcestershire yesterday when the mercury hit 28C (82F).
Temperatures today are likely to be 25-26C (77-79F) with the risk of heavy rain and thundery storms in places during the week. But these are set to fade away by Friday and Mr Damari said we could see temperatures of 19-21C (66-70F) on Saturday and Sunday, rising to 21-25C (70-75F) on Monday or Tuesday.
