A WOMAN will return to magistrates court later this year on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to her mother.

Lisa Brown, of Mortimers Quay, Evesham, was granted conditional bail at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Kerry Lovegrove, prosecuting, said West Midlands Ambulance Service received a call at about 8.45pm on Wednesday, May 30, from a woman saying, ‘mum has been stabbed’ before another female voice said, ‘daughter has stabbed me’.

Janet Brown was found with an inch-wide wound on her left arm, for which she received three stitches, and a knife was discovered on top of the chest of drawers in Brown’s bedroom with blood on the tip.

Miss Lovegrove added: “Janet Brown does not wish to pursue the allegation against her daughter.”

David Olivere, defending, told the court how Janet Brown had said, ‘I don’t remember her getting the knife, as far as I know I could have got the knife.’ He said Brown had entered a not guilty plea.

Brown will return to court on Wednesday, August 1, for a committal hearing and has been put on a curfew.

She is also not allowed to contact Janet Brown.
